Sailor Edge Afloat and Ashore (SEA2) contract, has an immediate
need for a Senior System Administrator. You will work with
Department of Navy (DON) stakeholders supporting a strategic
initiative transforming sailors' life aboard ship. Our team is
looking for an "out of the box" individual that will lean into this
role to help Navy optimize the current system but collaborate with
other system engineers on ways to incorporate new services, migrate
additional workloads to the system. This position will provide
operations, maintenance, and sustainment support for Dell Azure
Stack HCI platforms, as well as support system design and
development tasks to integrate additional capabilities. Primary
responsibilities include:
- Provide services for Dell Azure Stack HCI platform, perform
assigned O&M tasks (e.g., install security patches/updates,
plan and perform HW/SW upgrades, troubleshoot issues, etc.), report
task progress, provide feedback, and ensure tasks are completed on
time.
- Develop and submit change requests as necessary.
- Provide recommendations to optimize Dell Azure Stack HCI
platform performance.
- Support planning, design, development, evaluation, testing, and
integration of new features and capabilities within and on the
Azure Stack platform.
- Support planning and execution of workload migration to the
Azure Stack platform.
- Assist Navy in determining tactical and strategic direction as
it relates to emerging operational needs.
- Research, analyze, and recommend new operational support
technologies, tools, and techniques.
- Participate in system design and performance evaluation
reviews.
- Provide written and verbal project updates to leadership,
respond to, resolve, and document customer Azure HCI issues using
the approved ticketing system (TBD).
- Support development of O&M processes and procedures (e.g.,
SOP) for Dell Azure Stack HCI platforms.
- Support development and implementation of disaster recovery,
business continuity, and failover/cutover procedures.
- Develop, update, and provide input on Dell Azure Stack HCI
platform support tools and documentation.Job Requirements
- DoD 8140 System Administrator (451) role certification (at
least one of the following) - CompTIA Advanced Security
Practitioner (CASP)+, Cisco Certified Network Professional-Security
(CCNP-Security), or Certified Cloud Security Professional
(CCSP).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
(Desired).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
(Desired).
- 10+ years overall IT experience.
- 5+ years providing operations and administration support of
enterprise IT systems and services.
- 3+ years performing systems engineering activities supporting
the design and development of enterprise IT systems.
- Experience supporting Microsoft server operating systems.
- Knowledge of HCI technology.
- Knowledge of Azure Stack technologies (e.g., Hyper-V,
software-defined storage, software-defined networking).
- Knowledge of virtual desktop technology; Azure Virtual Desktops
a plus.
- Experience with PowerShell, Windows administration tools.
- Basic knowledge of networking technologies (layer 2, layer
3).
- Strong communication skills capable of communicating technical
concepts to an audience with a broad range of knowledge and
experience.
- Able to travel up to 25% in support of Navy operational
requirements.
